10 Low-Cost, Techy Gift Ideas for Teachers

Since it is the season for giving thanks I wanted to give a cheat sheet with some low-cost options for gifting the techy educator in your life. In this list I’ve shared a handful of under $20 gifts for teachers who are super-users of technology. If you scroll to the bottom of the list you’ll find one that is best suited for the tech-lover on your list who also likes a good laugh.

Low-Cost, Techy Gift Ideas for Teachers

Rainbow Stylus Pack – For just shy of $10 this pack of stylus (styli?) includes 9 choices in a rainbow of colors. These items work with a range of touchscreens.

Shockproof/Rainproof iPad Case – This neon green case is just shy of $20 and includes a grip handle. It provides access to all ports and buttons so you don’t have to worry about removing the case to charge your iPad or snap a picture.

Tablet Strap Holder – This tablet has strap holder works with a wide range of tablets. It makes a portable device even easier to use for people who are on the move around their classroom.

Ice Age AR Book – A picture book might not feel like a techy present to give, but this one includes scannable augmented reality pages. Readers can scan to see the content come to life.

Stylus/Ballpoint Pen – For under $7 you’ll find a collection of five stylus and ballpoint pen combos. The pack includes different colors and works with a range of devices.

Books, Accessories & More…

140 Twitter Tips for Educators – The fantastic team at Evolving Educators put together this awesome guide for teachers looking to get started with social media or ready to take their game to the next level. The Kindle version is under $10.

Bluetooth Keyboard – As much as I love my laptop, when I have a lot of writing to do I like to use a larger keyboard. This bluetooth keyboard connects to any device enabled with Bluetooth.

Deeper Learning with #ScannableTech – You can snag a copy of my book on QR codes and augmented reality for your favorite teacher. It’s under $20 in paperback and eligible for Amazon Prime.

Froogal Glass – I gifted one of these prank boxes to a family member last year and it was a hit. If the techy teacher you have in mind is up for a good laugh you might want to explore this option.

Gift Card – When in doubt a gift card can always be a nice choice. If you know your techy teacher loves their iPad you might opt for an iTunes gift card. You could also opt for a general Amazon gift card if you’re not quite sure of their device of choice.
