Are you getting ready to bring coding to your classroom? Last year, Sony launched the KOOV Educator Kit for STEAM classrooms. Now, they have a new KOOV Trial Kit for hands-on classroom coding, robotics, and design. With the KOOV Trial Kit, students can now access materials to bring STEAM concepts to life this school year.
Before I jump into the details, one important, time-sensitive note. The new KOOV Trial Kit and the KOOV Educator Kit are currently on sale through December 29, 2019. I’ve included the specifics at the bottom of the post, so you’ll want to scroll down and check out the details ASAP.
Classroom Coding, Robotics, and Design
Sony’s powerful KOOV Educator Kit is a coding, robotics, and design tool I featured on my blog last year. Regular readers of the blog know that I love to share innovative, hands-on learning experiences for students. This EdTech tool is an excellent example of an option you can bring into Computer Science Education Week next month or introduce to students at any time of the year.
How does KOOV work? Students first use blocks to create three-dimensional robots. They can use their own creative designs or the “Robot Recipes” provided by KOOV. Then, students can explore coding skills to give their robots life.
The new KOOV Trial Kit is an abbreviated take on the KOOV Educator Kit. It supports up to two learners and comes with 86 colorful blocks, accessories, sensors, motors, and LEDs. Students can develop a foundational understanding of coding, design, and robotics as they explore each concept. The KOOV Trial Kit is a fantastic option for schools looking to get started with classroom coding.
Getting Started with Coding
Although the KOOV Trial Kit is a smaller version of the KOOV Educator Kit, each one provides clear resources for teachers, students, or anyone interested in leading learning experiences for students. The KOOV Educator Kit is more comprehensive than the KOOV Trial Kit. In addition to standards correlation, it contains over 300 building blocks plus accessories, sensors, motors, LEDs, and more.
Schools, libraries, makerspaces, or anywhere where students take part in classroom coding, robotics, and design programming may want to start with the KOOV Trial Kit and then dive into the more comprehensive resources in the KOOV Educator Kit. Both of these kits support coding, robotics, and design. The kits combine digital coding with physical building and provide collaborative problem-solving experiences for students.
