It’s that time of year, and I have a brand new teacher gift guide to share with you! I love creating round-ups with favorites; most of the year, those lists include apps, websites, and teaching ideas. So today, I have a new teacher gift guide with a handful of selections for an educator in your life who might love all things EdTech, too.
This isn’t the first time I’ve created a gift guide for teachers. At the bottom of this post, I’ve included a list of past blog posts so you can take a look at those ideas as you build a shopping list this season.
Note: This post was first published in 2022 and updated in November 2023. For a few of the items below, I include a reference to the price. These are the prices that are currently listed as of 11/23 and may shift when you click on them.
>> And here is a collection I put together for 2023 <<
Tech Accessories for Teachers
Apple AirTag
Under $30, this Apple AirTag is an excellent choice for someone who already loves and uses Apple products – or at least is an iPhone user. Although an AirTag is a popular tracking tool for lost luggage, teachers can keep it on their keys, in their bags, or do anything they want to locate quickly.
Document Camera
The HUE HD Document Camera is an excellent choice for classroom use. I have one and love it, and I’ve partnered with the HUE team to share some ways to make the most of this powerful teaching and learning tool. Here’s one blog post from this year with a few ideas.
Cord Organizers
These cord organizers are perfect for a small, thoughtful present or to accompany something larger, like a gift basket or grab bag of items for your favorite teacher. Just like some of the other items on this list, it comes in a few different color choices.
iPad Case
How fun is this? Especially for teachers who might have transitioned from a marble composition notebook to a digital journal, there is probably an educator in your life who would get a kick out of this iPad case modeled after these favorite notebooks. When buying a tablet case, don’t forget to double-check the specifics of what device they currently use.
Digital Pencil
Do you know a teacher who loves their tablet but is looking for an upgrade? I’ve had the chance to partner with Logitech a few times in the past, and I love their classroom resources. The Logitech Crayon Digital Pencil for iPad Pro is a great choice for teachers using a touchscreen to model for students, jot down observations, or so many other classroom tasks.
Tablet Bag
An AirTag might help you find a missing item, but a dedicated case may be useful to help prevent misplacing something important. This tablet carrying case comes in lots of different colors, and I love the two options for carrying things – both a handle and a strap.
Laptop Stickers
It finally happened to me. I became a person who covers things with stickers. Right now, those “things” are my laptop and a few water bottles, but I’m a little concerned it won’t stop there. This link will take you to a collection of laptop stickers with a science theme, perfect for a techy teacher who also likes to add a little color to their everyday items.
Teacher Gifts for the Classroom
Podcast Microphone
For teachers who love to listen to podcasts and might want to start their own, or for teachers who want to create a podcast with their students, a great microphone is a must-have. I just received this as a gift from Logitech, and I love that it is smaller in size than my usual podcast microphone.
Lapel Microphone
I have another microphone option that is a bit smaller to add to the list. It’s an excellent choice for teachers creating screencasts on an iPad and want to make sure their audio is coming through nice and clearly.
Toniebox
I connected with the team at Toniebox a few years ago and love this tech-friendly, screen-free way to connect students to stories. It’s a great classroom gift or one to share with anyone who wants to bring more stories into their home.
Not So Techy Teacher Gifts
Teacher Sweatshirt
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m a big fan of leopard print – here’s just one example. So I couldn’t help adding this sweatshirt (available in a few different colors) to my list of teacher gifts. This one comes in a handful of colors and sizes.
Insulated Mug
Does someone you know carry a warm or cold beverage around with them throughout the day? I love an insulated mug, and this teacher-themed choice comes in two different colors. If you don’t know the gift recipient’s favorite color, you might choose a school color instead.
Canvas Tote
Whether it holds a tablet, Chromebook, or afternoon snacks, a canvas tote can definitely come in handy. You might give this as a stand-alone present or fill it with a few smaller items as part of a gift this holiday season.
Everything Tumbler
Maybe it’s just my Instagram feed, but it seems like everyone is raving over these tumblers. To start the day, you might fill it with iced tea, bubbly water, or steaming coffee. It comes in so many color options, and you might want to add it to your cart in case it goes on sale.
Technology Books for Teachers
Feed
I read this over the summer and think about it all the time. It’s not a new book, but it was one sitting on my bookshelf that I finally brought with me to a day at the beach. So if you know an educator who loves YA science fiction or is often chatting about the intersection of technology and social media, it’s a great one to share. And you can snag the paperback version for under $10.
Robotics for Babies
As a big fan of this series of board books, I couldn’t help including it in this year’s gift guide. So this is a favorite whether you are shopping for a tech-loving teacher with little ones at home or just want a simple, low-cost (under $10) gift for a white elephant exchange.
What would you add to this new gift guide? Share with me on Instagram and Twitter, and tagging @ClassTechTips. Or, if you’d like more recommendations this school year, follow along to see what new items I’m most excited about.
