What was your favorite part of 2018? I don’t know about you, but it’s hard for me to choose just one. Although like every year, this one had it’s up and downs, there were so many things to celebrate in 2018. From a brand new book to lots of conference trips, it’s been a super fun year and now I want to celebrate with you!
Last week I announced a series of special EdTech giveaways. There is still time left for you to take advantage of the opportunity. You can enter all NINE giveaways if you like — or just one — it’s entirely up to you! Just make sure you get in by 11:59 PM ET on January 4th.
EdTech Giveaways for Readers
The giveaway is taking place on Instagram where NINE new posts are now live. All you have to do to enter each giveaway is: (1) follow my Instagram account, (2) like the giveaway post, and (3) tag a friend in comments of the post.
Use this link to visit my Instagram page to find the giveaways! In the video below I share the reasons why I added each item to my giveaway list. And of course, you can read along below to hear about each one too.
Secret Coders Book Bundle
The first giveaway features three books from the Secret Coders series. These graphic novels are an excellent choice for readers. If your students like to read comic books already, this is a great way to introduce them to computer science concepts. Alternatively, your students might love learning how to code, and this book can connect to a set of English Language Arts goals you’ve established for the school year. Learn more about this series by using this Amazon link.
Dr. Seuss Bag of Goodies
Dr. Seuss Day takes place on March 2nd each year in celebration of this favorite children’s author on his birthday. I’ve gathered a bundle of pencils, erasers and more from a trip to Target earlier this year. If you’re celebrating Dr. Seuss Day or just want to grab new items for a class prize box, this giveaway is for you. It’s hard to pick a favorite Dr. Seuss book, but I love How the Grinch Stole Christmas and The Lorax. If you have a solid favorite, add it in the comments of this post.
Amazon Gift Card
Sometimes it feels like I use Amazon for just about everything. During a busy week I’ll even order groceries using Prime Now. So I’m excited that number three on my giveaway list is a $25 Amazon gift card. This way you can pick up just about anything if you win. Looking to give an Amazon gift card as a gift? Here’s a link to where you can pick one up or send one out to someone special.
Little Legends Alphabet Book
Earlier this year I connected with the team behind Little Legends Alphabet Book. They’ve given me a few copies to give away, and I’m excited to include this one on the list. It’s a fantastic ABC book about young people who changed the world. You might use it to inspire student researchers or kick off a biography unit in 2019. Can’t wait to see who the winner is? Use this link to grab a copy right away.
Social Media Book Tips
A quick and actionable read, this signed copy of 101 Ways To Use Social Media To Do Good is another one I can’t wait for you to check out. Written by Frances Leary, it has plenty of ideas to integrate into a digital citizenship unit. You’re sure to gather something to put into your professional or personal use of social media. This book is also available on Amazon if you want to grab a copy now.
Rug-Ed iPad Case
This winter I featured Rug-Ed on my website. Did you catch the blog post? Here’s a link to read it now. Well, they have a fantastic iPad case and they will send one to the winner of this giveaway! I gave one of their iPad cases as a Christmas gift this year, and I love the quality of their cases.
Merge Cube
Have you seen a Merge Cube in action? This year I’ve carried one around in my bag on visits to schools. I love showing off this augmented reality tool and ways to use it in the classroom. It connects to different apps to place human anatomy, the solar system, and so much more right in your hands!
Engage the Brain
The new book by fellow ASCD author Allison Posey, Engage the Brain is another one on this list of giveaways. I had the chance to meet Allison at the ASCD CEL conference in Nashville this fall. She is a passionate educator, and I know you’ll love this book!
Taming the Wild Text
The final giveaway on this list is a signed copy of my book with Pam Allyn on tech-friendly literacy strategies for readers. This summer I held a book club for Taming the Wild Text, and it was so exciting to hear about ways teachers used this book in their classroom. Did you know that you can earn grad credit from reading my books? Here is a blog post with more information. When I send out this copy to a lucky winner, I’ll make sure to include some Class Tech Tips stickers too!
You can enter all the giveaways until January 4th, and I’ll announce the winners the following week. I can’t wait for you to check out all of these EdTech favorites!
