Looking for a school grant program? As part of their work to support Internet safety in schools, Impero Software has released a new white paper on digital citizenship. They have launched a grant competition for school technology. The $2.5 million Best Technology for Schools grant program celebrates Impero’s 10 millionth student user. The grant also lets schools apply for between $1,250 and $25,000 toward software licenses depending on their school or district’s need.
If you haven’t heard of Impero Software, they are a leading remote monitoring and management software provider. Impero Education Pro software monitors students’ online activity on a school’s network. It alerts educators if students use keywords that could also indicate different issues. This includes cyberbullying, sexting, radicalization, self-harm and more.
The Best Technology for Schools
The Best Technology for Schools grant competition was designed to help schools in a variety of areas. It aims to help schools leverage technology to manage student devices and help students stay on task throughout the school year. Another goal of the grant program is to keep students safe in the digital world while helping kids get the most out of the digital learning experience.
The deadline to apply for the Best Technology for Schools grant program is December 31, 2016. Schools can apply here.
Digital Citizenship
In addition to this special school grant program the folks at Impero have put together a new white paper on digital citizenship. “Digital Citizenship: A Holistic Primer” helps schools understand what it means to be a digital citizen and effectively teach digital citizenship. The white paper is a collaborative effort between both Impero Software and the Digital Citizenship Institute. This paper was released at the Digital Citizenship Summit at Twitter headquarters in San Francisco last month. The white paper also features leading experts in digital citizenship and examples of schools that are teaching it well.
You can download the white paper here for a digital version to share with your colleagues and community stakeholders!
